Submissions

Guidelines for music compositions / submissions:

  1. Here are some helpful Instrument Range Guidelines according to grade level written by Darrell Anderson
  2. We prefer to publish our scores with 25 staves or less, putting 1st and 2nd flute & oboe, 2nd and 3rd clarinet etc. on one stave (if needed), to reduce score to 25 or less staves because most of our scores are published on 8.5 X 11 letter-sized paper.
  3. We generally use 0.5 margins for score and parts except for the first page.
  4. Please keep page turns in mind when extracting your parts. We can do this if you are not sure, but every little bit helps for future editing.
  5. For submission questions, contact the TRN music editors
  6. A note page about the music and a composer biography are good to have, but are not a requirement for new submissions. However, these are required for music that is accepted.

What to send:

  1. STEP ONE: To prevent spam or junk mail, we no longer list our email addresses online. Therefore, you should first contact us using the CONTACT FORM to let us know you would like to submit a composition for consideration. We will then get back to you from an email address you can reply to and continue the steps below.
  2. STEP TWO: Email a full score file (Finale or Sibelius) with the best possible recording. - we prefer a live recording

* If you prefer to send a hard copy of your finale or sibelius file via snail mail, click here for our mailing address.

** If you want your music returned, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope if the piece is not accepted.

NOTE: If you have any further questions regarding submitting your composition for publication, contact us.
